Dangers in Our Kids’ Classrooms

We need to be PROACTIVE when it comes to our kids’ health and safety. There are toxic chemicals being used every day in classrooms – as parents we need to create the change to better/safer non-toxic cleaners! At the start of every school year, I buy green cleaners for my kids’ teachers – I have found the best ones! (EPA approved to kill 99.9% of all germs, including H1N1!)

Unfortunately, kids get lice…it’s horrible!  But worse than the lice themselves is the TREATMENT!  One of the common treatments is lice shampoo containing LINDANE (I encourage you to google on “dangers of lindane” before using this product!)  The least side affects are skin rash and irritation.  Even worse is that lindane has been linked to neurological damage causing seizures and some believe it is responsible for the increase in leukemia cases!  The most scary fact is that lindane has been banned for use in agricultural situations, yet it is still being used as a treatment on kids!!!  UGH!  There IS a better way!  Use a shampoo that contains all-natural TEA TREE OIL – this not only kills lice, but it deters them in the first place!  I have been using an all-natural shampoo containing tea tree oil for my kids for years and I love it!  (And my kids have NEVER had lice I am very relieved to say!)

Helping Stay-at-Home Moms (Dads too!)

There are many parents (moms and dads) that would LOVE to be able to be home more for their kids.  But the harsh reality is that most families need two incomes to make end meet.  I am thrilled to be able to help others do what I’m doing….revolving their work around their life rather then the other way around.  Being able to help out at your kids’ Halloween party at school or be home when they get off the bus or even make sometime for YOURSELF to get to the gym or whatever else makes you feel good….this is priceless.  If you are looking for a way to earn extra income in your spare time from home, please check out this link for more info:  http://www.WorkAtHomeGreen.MomsMakeMore.com

Breakfast is SO important

Yeah, yeah, yeah….everyone says how important breakfast is.  But let me tell you first hand how it’s changing my family’s life.  In the past month I have lost 17 pounds!  Yes, it’s been about portion control, getting to the gym, etc.  It has also included a healthy breakfast that also needs to be satisfying!  (And for me, that means something HOT).  The other person in my family that has really benefited from a healthy breakfast is my son, who has ADHD.  I’ve been doing a lot of research and have read over and over how important it is for him to have protein to start the day.  So, the solution to our problem is a bowl of hot cereal that is BETTER than Quaker.  It has 66% more fiber, 25% more protein, 46% less sodium, 33% less sugar, more whole grains and an excellent source of ALA omega-3’s.
